نفى المدير العام لمرفأ بيروت عمر عيتاني، أن “تكون هناك أي عملية هدم للاهراءات تجري على أرض المرفأ”.
ودعا الوسائل الإعلامية الى “توخي الدقة والشفافية في التعاطي مع هذا الموضوع وتجنب إثارة البلبلة”، مؤكدًا ان “الصور والرواية المتداولة في الإعلام عن ان آلات كبيرة تشبه المثقاب تعمل على زعزعة أساسات الإهراءات، انما هي كانت تستخدم قبل الانفجار لتفريغ بواخر القمح، فاقتضى التوضيح”.
